LIQUID GOLD by Vasil Iliev is the winner of the Klek Shop @ DOT Sofia souvenir competition! The competition, which included a prize fund and the opportunity to produce a series of products, was organized in partnership with Komplekt on the occasion of the seventh edition of Melba – the Sofia Design Festival.
The product will be realized next month and presented in mid-March, along with more details about its history and purpose.
"Mineral water is the true souvenir of the city. The emblem of the mineral spring is even part of Sofia’s coat of arms. I wanted to create a reusable bottle—LIQUID GOLD—because Sofia’s mineral springs are our liquid gold, just as olive oil is for our southern neighbors," says Vasil Iliev.
Each bottle serves as a mini-guide: by scanning the QR code, the owner gains access to valuable information about the city's mineral waters, as well as navigation for a short walk to nearby springs.
LIQUID GOLD was selected from 13 projects in the Klek Shop @ DOT Sofia souvenir competition by a jury comprising Veselina Sarieva (DOT Sofia, Sarieva Gallery), Adriana Andreeva and Boyana Gyaurova (Komplekt), Dr. Pancho Georgiev (owner of DOT Sofia), Vyara Zhelyazkova (I/O Architects), and Dima Stefanova (Know-How / Show-How).
The participants who made it to the shortlist of the souvenir competition are: Radostina Radichkova, Petra Marino, Sanya Kovacheva and Gergana Mileva, Vasil Iliev.
Thank you for your interest in the Klek Shop @ DOT Sofia competition!
