The rusty building on the Women's Market: How the DOT Sofia hotspot emerged

To understand this building, you have to notice every single detail and that's the best part

The architects choose the material "corten" to make the facade, which is a metal with the innovative property of rusting to a certain point and then stopping at the right stage.

"This rustiness connects it a lot to the Women's Market area, where we see stalls, abandoned buildings and places that also have this feeling. The building isn't too tall either so it doesn't intrude on its neighbours. Entering the ecosystem unnoticed is extremely important for the ethic we have towards the neighbourhood," says Veselina Sarieva, art director of DOT.

There is not a single random element here, and art is as much a unifying concept for the gallery as it is for the restaurant and hotel.
