Sarieva/Gallery @ DOT Sofia

As a place dedicated to showcasing the very best of contemporary Bulgaria, DOT Sofia partners with Sarieva/Gallery, one of the country's leading contemporary art galleries, founded in 2004. The gallery's mission is to foster collecting, expand knowledge, and support the development of contemporary Bulgarian art. Through the Sarieva/Gallery @ DOT Sofia programme, three curated exhibitions are presented annually, featuring both established and emerging artists.

Sarieva/Gallery represents Bulgarian contemporary artists with an international profile while actively developing exhibitions, curatorial initiatives, and cross-disciplinary cultural projects. Works by the gallery's artists are held in major international museum collections and institutions, including Centre Pompidou, The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York, Tate Modern, and others.

In 2019, The New York Times described Sarieva/Gallery as "the heart of Plovdiv's contemporary art scene," recognising its pivotal role in advancing contemporary art in Bulgaria and across the region.

Following the beginning of the partnership in 2019 and the opening of DOT Sofia in 2023, the venue has become Sarieva/Gallery's home in Sofia - a place where the gallery's exhibition programme continues to evolve within a new urban context, creating new encounters between artists, audiences, and contemporary Bulgarian culture.
