As the new head chef of KOMAT, Todor Grablev tells us what's coming in 2025 and what the New Year will be like from the rooftop of DOT Sofia.

The work "Dreams of Tomorrow" enriches the collection of DOT Sofia with contemporary Bulgarian art and at the same time enters the 11 suites of the hotel with 11 drawings and 11 stories by Nedko Solakov, told with irony, gentleness and real humor.

The hyper-acceleration of our first year shortened our concept of time and put DOT Sofia at the center of the urban conversation.

We associate autumn in Sofia with an awakening of the senses - we eat with our eyes and the taste seems to pass through the colors of the season. A warm palette of memories transforms the hectic city and fills it with a feeling of comfort, peace and ease. We are enveloped in the complex but childlike familiar aroma of roasted chestnuts and honey pumpkin, stuffed cambium, spelt and mushrooms, wild garlic and tahini sauce, eggplant and lentils, prunes and roasted walnuts...

Following “A Sentimental Show” (together with Dimitar Solakov and Mityo Solakov), 2013; “Nature,” 2016; and “(almost) Paintings,” 2019, this is Nedko Solakov’s fourth exhibition with the gallery and the first in its Sofia space at DOT Sofia.

World-renowned Bulgarian artist Pravdoliub Ivanov returns to DOT Sofia with two permanent works that respond to the site-specific architecture of the building. The Monument to the Unknown Washerwoman, located in the garden of the KOMAT restaurant, and the sculpture on the roof of DOT Sofia, the illuminated sign FORM-FROM-FORM, transform the environment and treat the history of an ever-changing urban area with respect and curiosity. The Monument to the Unknown Washerwoman, the kinetic sculpture FORM-FROM-FORM and the painting Studying the Secret Language of the Pandemic are works by Pravdoliub Ivanov that are publicly accessible in one of the largest private collections of contemporary Bulgarian art, the DOT Sofia Art Collection.

DOT Sofia is pleased to present an exhibition related to the exploration and documentation of the area where it is located - namely Old Sofia, Vuzrazhdane district and in particular the Women's Market. The exhibition includes archival photographs from the last century of the Women's Market - the oldest market in the capital, photographed by Panayot Barnev and provided by the Bulgarian Visual Archive. The selection, curated by Tihomir Stoyanov and co-curated by Veselina Sarieva, offers a unique insight into the architectural, social and psychological aspects of life in this area in the 1970s.
