DOT Sofia is an art lover's paradise, curated by our Art Director, Vesselina Sarieva. We invite you to experience some of Bulgaria's most iconic works of contemporary art, displayed in the common areas, in the apartments of DOT Sofia and in the restaurant KOMAT. Come and enjoy our regular exhibitions and cultural events!
The DOT Sofia Art Collection is a private collection of contemporary Bulgarian art, curated by Vesselina Sarieva. The selection is inspired by the humour and melancholic depth of the Bulgarian soul, themes of everyday life in Bulgaria and the world, and our lives as urban nomads. Its artworks explore the possibility of empathy and the joy of living together in a world of social, ethnic, political and ethical amplitudes and contrasts. DOT Sofia's art collection comprises over 200 works by established and emerging contemporary Bulgarian artists, including many key works from the late 1980s to the present day.
Art is life. Each of our designer apartments, the panoramic penthouse, the communal areas and the KOMAT restaurant are decorated with selected pieces from the DOT Sofia Art Collection. The integration of contemporary art with bespoke architectural spaces is one of our greatest joys in life. At DOT Sofia we have on permanent display some of the most iconic works by established artists such as Nedko Solakov, Pravdoliub Ivanov, Stefan Nikolaev, Luchezar Boyadjiev - as well as emerging artists such as Rudi Ninov, Kamen Stoyanov, Maria Nalbantova and many more.
Experience the vibrant Bulgarian contemporary art scene at DOT Sofia. We regularly host exhibitions by the leading Bulgarian contemporary art gallery Sarieva/Gallery and cultural events that are open to art lovers and those who are simply curious and willing to explore!
See moreAfter the huge success of our summer Culinary pop-up and a short break, KOMAT Restaurant is back with another culinary challenge - the autumn edition of our pop-up collaborations. We'll be open for lunch and dinner on Thursday, 5 September. It's the time of the best harvest, and the season brings with it a feeling of endless abundance. The transition from summer to autumn gives us a chance to grab the best, because - isn't that right? - Every end is actually a new beginning... A rich palette of vegetables and local produce awaits us, and the smell of smoky peppers is already in the air :) Autumn culinary pop-up begins with chef Nikola Krumov.
DOT Sofia is pleased to present an exhibition related to the exploration and documentation of the area where it is located - namely Old Sofia, Vuzrazhdane district and in particular the Women's Market. The exhibition includes archival photographs from the last century of the Women's Market - the oldest market in the capital, photographed by Panayot Barnev and provided by the Bulgarian Visual Archive. The selection, curated by Tihomir Stoyanov and co-curated by Veselina Sarieva, offers a unique insight into the architectural, social and psychological aspects of life in this area in the 1970s.
We meet Diana Onishchenko, a waiter at the KOMAT restaurant, talking about the freedom to be yourself when you're in the right place. We take a look at summer cocktails, accompanied by good recommendations.
1100 chairs later, KOMAT is taking a well-deserved break. After a strong finish to the Culinary Pop-Up, we will be taking a short holiday from 13 August to the beginning of September.
