STOP SOFIA

Each year, the DOT Sofia Art Collection develops exhibitions, photographic projects, and archival initiatives dedicated to researching and documenting Old Sofia and Women's Market.

The programme alternates between two thematic directions: "Sofia Then," focusing on the city's historical memory, and "Sofia Now," exploring its contemporary transformations.

Launched in 2024, the exhibition series STOP SOFIA examines the neighbourhood surrounding DOT Sofia—Old Sofia, Vazrazhdane District, and its historic heart, Women’s Market - through archival photography alongside contemporary artistic interpretations. By bringing together historical records and contemporary art, the series offers new perspectives on one of Sofia's most dynamic and layered urban environments.
